Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Animal Science), Bachelor of Science (Veterinary BioScience), Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Special interest in Ophthalmology, Analgesia and Anaesthesia and Behaviour medicine.
Why: I always surrounded myself with a menagerie of pets growing up but had never thought to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian until realising I hated studying Law (and that it was probably too late to become an astronaut). I couldn’t imagine doing anything else; I am truly so lucky to be at JSVet doing what I love.
My Pets: Bob The Dog – 8yo Fat greyhound cross, Hugo – 3yo Giant Staghound, Elfia – 14yo domestic long hair
Funny Pet Story: A tale of caution! Be wary of dogs and sea water! Bob The Dog was having a complete whale of a time chasing a tennis ball in the ocean. Unbeknownst to us, he had ingested a LOT of sea water… resulting in explosive liquid diarrhoea adjacent to families playing in the shallows. My husband tried to ‘catch’ the liquid – I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Hobbies: I am an Advanced Open Water Diver! I also enjoy sampling local wines, especially while watching social and cultural documentaries such as MAFS.
